“Emerging players in the industry with modern and well-equipped facilities are bidding for the same international meetings and events that AICC bids. This necessitates us to come up with more rigorous and effective strategies to stay afloat,” he said.

He said convention Centers’ business is one of the ventures that have strong forward and backward linkages, saying AICC must stay afloat, its multiplying effects to other sectors to grow and in the long run raising the living standards of the masses of Tanzanians.

Mr Mafuru further said that AICC is a pioneer and a great brand name in the Business Tourism industry in the African region that commenced her operations 45 years ago and needs a facelift in terms of adapting to new technologies, quality service and modern facilities.
