17th ICMDA 2023 WORLD CONGRESS

Managing Director of Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) Ephraim Mafuru, held a press conference yesterday to inform the public of 17th International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) 2023 World Congress that is taking place at AICC, Arusha for the next seven days.

The conference is expected to be attended by over 1,200 healthcare professionals and medical students from more than 100 countries.

These experts are members of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association. This is the first time such a conference is being held in Tanzania and the second time in Africa, following intense competition with Nigeria and Canada.

In addition to discussing the achievements of hosting the conference, Mafuru also highlighted Tanzania’s success in promoting the business of conference tourism, where it currently ranks fifth in Africa.

“These achievements inspire AICC to establish a new, large and modern center in Arusha, known as the Mount Kilimanjaro International Convention Centre (MKICC), which will have a capacity to accommodate 3,000 guests. There will be a five-star hotel with the capacity to accommodate 1,000 guests, as well as an exhibition center capable of hosting 10,000 people at once,” he further explained.

Despite continuing with these plans, the center will also continue renovating its existing facilities at AICC, Arusha, and JNICC, Dar es Salaam.

The press conference, held at JNICC in Dar es Salaam, was also attended by the Director of Tanzania Tourist Board, Damasi Mfugale, and the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the 17th ICMDA, Dr. Elichilia Shao.
